GDES2000: Task 02: Multimedia Interface Research

Task set: Tues 21st Feb session [Andystevo].

S2, Task 02 Multimedia interface research

Think about the examples of multimedia you found for this week’s LT discussion with ref to your own brief and webpages.

Now you’ve explored a few different types of multimedia interface and thought about structures this week… We want to evolve your rough multimedia ideas so that you’re clearer what multimedia you  may use in your site.

Requirements:
• Draw coloured sketches (please use rulers) in your layout pads of 2 possible interface methods for each multimedia page in your site – there’s at least 3x elements per brief/site.

• Add written comments to these [enough to help explain to your learning team] they’ll need to know:

a. How each one will work

b. What interface elements you’ve decided to use
[buttons, control elements, sliders etc].

c. What imagery and sounds you’d like to use..
[i.e sound fx or vocal accompaniment or maybe musical etc].

Considerations:

• Think about how these ideas you’ve brought might be controlled, how the user and audience[s] will interact with them potentially.

• Think about the placement of buttons and controls, display elements, control of sound and vision etc).

  •       Image format: RGB

  1. I have the Rapunzel story that I would like to see if I could get onto a iPhone and iPad, using touch features to tell the story.

This one works on the principles of touch, and slidings that will be used to move the story in a linear motion, ideally like to find out how to make shake stories where u shake the ipad to move the action and the story on

I would voices for the characters, as well little chimes when the page is turned.

Part of B pirate story and game

This is a story also following our Pirate B across his journey, but also including games, like hide and seek, where other pirates bees hide behind objects ready to be found.
Other games include looking for treasure under the water.

This will again run with the idea of sliders as well the use of buttons disguised as the objects on the beach revealing the hidden people when picked.

    c. What imagery and sounds you’d like to use..
[i.e sound fx or vocal accompaniment or maybe musical etc. Simple water and pirate music is what I see with this game, with the occasional random "where is he hiding" and other random phrases being said by the B pirate.

This a other story, Little B and her flying red hood, This story starts to with Nanna B flying with her book, once clicked it opens up,starting the story.

I want this to be a simple linear story, using the arrows to continue the story, I would also like to look at having turing pages, where you can slide the page over to turn it

    .
Again, I want voices as the bees speak, and sounds that link to what is happening to the story, as well the sound of the turning page.

My ipad version, where I want to play around with motion graphics, same story as the online version, but using touch and shake features to work the story
